Perplexing Proportional Adjustment

Perplexing Proportional Adjustment

Proportional Adjustment is using what you know to find out what you don't know.

For Example:

WHO WOULD KNOW THAT!

This is where you use what you know to find out what you don't know.

Since you know that 3 x 3 = 9
And 9 x 9 = 81 and the question is asking what is 81 divided by 3
Divide it by 9 then multiply your answer by 3.
If you are wondering why you have to multiply it by 3, here's your answer. Since you have just made your answer smaller by squaring the original dividing number.
To make your answer bigger this is what you do:

3 x 3 = 9
                                                                          x
9 x 9 = 81
                                                                        = 27

You may not know how to do multiplication, here is an example:

6 x 20 =
Half 6 to 3
Double 20 to 40
The new equation is 40 x 3 =
120
